Several Affected as In-Flight Disturbance Strikes A Delta Airlines Flight into Sydney

Delta Airlines reported the aircraft experienced "momentary turbulence" as it arrived at its destination.

Multiple passengers and crew have been injured when a Delta aircraft from Los Angeles to Sydney experienced rough air on Friday morning.

Delta Flight 41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it landed at Sydney Airport, a company official informed. Several cabin crew members were injured.

Local paramedics stated they treated five patients, and transferred three to the hospital with minor injuries that such as back pain and headaches. Those affected spanned from their 30s up to the 70s.

It is the newest example of aircraft being hit by atmospheric disturbance, with experts saying that climate change is a key driver.

On board were 245 passengers and a crew of 15 on the Airbus A350, the official added, clarifying that the plane arrived "safely and normally" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday.

The NSW Ambulance Service indicated they were alerted just a mere three minutes ahead of the plane touched down, and ambulances were waiting on the tarmac.
